Review: Excellent Product, no more low quality or over priced ice cream for us
User:LadyRedRider
This is a simple product to use, nearly zero effort. I usually mix fruit, yogurt, heavy cream or half and half in the blender add a few other favorite items and pour the liquid into the machine – after 40 minutes I have the best ice cream/frozen yogurt product.

Review: Hardest part is the wait for the ice cream!
User: ClydeP1
One great benefit of having a self contained machine over one of the old fashioned machines with the ice and salt is the fact that we can immediately make multiple batches without waiting. I highly recommend this machine and have found that it runs with no problems if you follow the instructions for operation and take care to keep everything clean and dry. A couple of words of caution is to make sure that the bucket is not too full and that the lid is secured properly We did have a batch of Banana Chocolate chip that we were making that was a little too full and we had to stop the machine mid cycle to remove some of the mixture so it didn’t overrun the sides of the bucket. Secondly, if the lid is not Seated properly it will allow the beater to move a little and you will hear it knocking a little. Stopping the machine and reseating then beater fixed the problem.

Review: 5/5 for the price

This icemaker needs cleaning in order to function, that is why it gets some mixed reviews. First, try to supply softwater to the icemaker. That will solve most problems. However, if you have only hard water, you need to clean (every 6-8) months the freezing tray.

Review: No compressor! Its a glorified turntable…
User: Person
I was comparing icecream makers with compressors, so i wouldn’t have to deal with freezing a bowl. This popped up and i guess i figured for the price and size and my search criteria it would have a compressor. The title even says “Frozen Treats in as little as 20-mins”.. yea right!

Review: This undercounter icemaker will require periodic maintenance
User: Tom
Make no mistake, the GE Monogram ZDIS under counter ice maker is a “luxury” appliance. When it works well the ice is clear, without impurities typical with standard refrigerator ice makers, and simply tastes better due to the process of “layered” freezing of an ice slab on a cooling plate. I’ve enjoyed my ZDIS ice maker for 10 years but learned early on.

Review: Follow the instructions and you’ll be thrilled!
User: Mindy G.
This is a great ice cream maker – my mom swore by those clunky ones that needed a ton of ice and rock salt, and she recommended this one. Pro-tip they aren’t kidding about making sure the bowl is completely frozen. I froze the bowl for about 8 hours and my first attempt was a failure. After asking Mom, I put the bowl in the freezer the night before, and it worked great! My blackberry ice cream was a hit at the neighborhood block party. I do recommend keeping the bowl in the freezer if you have room so you can make it on the spot! 🙂
